Speaking at the event held at MTN House, Ridge, on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante said, “Education is the key to developing vibrant and stable societies. It is arguably the single most important tool needed to create wealth and eradicate poverty.

According to him, the importance of education in the communities cannot be over emphasized, hence the need to step up efforts to improve education in the country.

“I am excited about 2016 21 Days of Y’ello Care because it is my first Y’ello Care challenge as CEO of MTN Ghana and it also forms part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations”, Mr Twum Asante said.

He said volunteers would refurbish and equip the resource centre of the School for the Deaf at Mampong in the Eastern Region as well as provide DSTV resource centres for some selected Senior High Schools in the country.

He added, volunteers would also develop an Educational portal for teachers which would provide leads on education, teaching and methodology and reading content.

He said “10 years of Y’ello Care initiatives had been successful”.

According to him, due to high staff participation and project impact, MTN Ghana won the overall Y’ello Care Challenge prize for the MTN Group.
