East Airport International School student wins star award

The student, Master Sourav Pattnaik, now inYear 12 (Lower Sixth Form), received his award at this year’s British Council Attached Centres awards night.

British Council organises this ceremony for British Council Attached Centres and presents awards to teachers and students who perform exceptionally in the Cambridge International Examinations.

The Star Award is given to students who attain more than 95 per cent in a subject in the examination.

Master Pattnaik was presented with a medal, a certificate of achievement and book vouchers from Mayan Books Ltd.

At the same ceremony, Mr. Emmanuel Arthur, a year six teacher at the same school received a certificate of recognition for hard work, dedication and making a difference in the lives of students.

Mr. Arthur has tutored Year 6 pupils who have consistently excelled in the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examination.

East Airport International School, established in 2002, is an international co-educational school which provides the British Curriculum.

The school admits children from pre-school (age 3) to pre-university.

At the end of Year 6, pupils sit for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examination, and students in Year 9 write the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination.

In May / June 2012, the school’s first batch of Year 11 students wrote the school’s maiden Cambridge IGCSE.
