BECE graduates advised to make use of time

A playwright and Columnist of The Mirror newspaper, Mr Kobina Ansah, has called on Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates to make proper use of their time, while at home awaiting their results.

According to him, education was a ladder they could never finish climbing, and so they should keep learning useful things that would prepare them adequately for the world of work and future endeavours.

“We always need to add value to ourselves ... and the only way we can add value to ourselves is through education,” he pointed out.

Mr Ansah said this at the 16th graduation ceremony of the Crown Prince Academy, during which 57 students, who wrote this year’s BECE, graduated.

At the event, which was on the theme: “We are counting on you”, graduates who excelled in various subjects were presented with prizes.

“You are the investment of your parents, teachers, friends and anyone around you. This means that you do not take any decision anyhow, if you are someone’s investment. An investment is something we make to get profit,” he said.

Mr Ansah advised the graduands to take note of a number of things including being careful of the friends they played with, their decisions and choices on various issues.

The Managing Director of Crown Prince Academy, Mrs Susanne Prince-Boateng, advised the graduands to be a blessing to their family, community and the country, urging them to follow their dreams and never compromise on their integrity.

The Headmistress of the school, Ms Belief N. Amponi-Kagson, called on the graduands to protect and uphold the image of the school wherever they found themselves.
