The perennial water problem confronting the students of the Senior High Technical School for the Deaf at Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern Region has been resolved with the provision of a borehole by the Ghana Bus Workers Association based in the United Kingdom.

The GH¢15,000 facility would also help the students of the school who had to cross the busy Mampong-Accra road in search of water.
Handing over the facility, the Chairman of the Aassociation, Mr Frank Amoah, said the school had always been dear to the heart of the association and recalled that last year, when it was faced with ejection from its premises, the group donated GH¢3,500 to offset its indebtedness to the landlord.

He urged the management of the school to take good care of the facility.
He expressed the hope that more organisations would support the school to overcome its challenges.
The Akuapem North Municipal Director of Education, Mr Kobina Nyamekye, thanked the association for its kind gesture and urged the school to make maximum use of the facility.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Joseph Sam, said the facility would go a long way to improve the quality of teaching and learning at the school.
