Assembly allocates 50% of budget to education

Madam Philippa Banson, Nkoranza South Municipal Director of Education commended the PAGE project for organising capacity training workshops for various stakeholders of education in the municipality.

The project has created awareness for the Municipal Education Oversight Committee and the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) to play their respective roles and responsibilities in education delivery in the communities.

Madam Banson, however, pleaded with the management of the project to arrange some remuneration and incentives for the stakeholders such as the community Education Volunteers to boost their morale.

Mr Eric Balangtaa, USAID-PAGE Project Officer for Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regions, commended the Nkoranza South Municipal Directorate of Education for its hard work and efforts in working effectively towards the implementation of the guidelines of the project.

He said Nkoranza South Municipal Directorate of Education had gained  recognition of the donor agencies for meeting their set goals and objectives.

Mr Balangtaa explained that the meeting was to review the project’s grant for the year to undertake programmes arranged for the period to meet set goals of the project.

The PAGE project has provided four motorbikes to circuit supervisors for their monitoring activities .
