Most outstanding footballers are always remembered with a particular trade mark and so is Taye Taiwo, whose ability to shoot from afar, always leaves a lasting imprint on the minds of football fans.

A left-back, the Nigerian international is endowed with a powerful foot that strikes with such venom that only few left-backs in the world, including Roberto Carlos, have that potential.

At 30-years, Taiwo is still going strong and is now a key member of the HJK Helsinki after his career took him through clubs such as, Marseille, AC Milan, Queens Park Rangers, Dynamo Kyiv and Bursaspor.

Father of two, Taiwo was once accused by the media of being younger than his twin brother. It was reported that at the time the player claimed to be 25-years while his twin brother was over 37-years but this was disputed by the former AC Milan player who denied ever having a twin brother.

“I don’t have a twin brother, I’ve never heard of any twin brother since I was young, my parents told me from my young days that my twin, who is a female, had died while we were toddlers. I, therefore, don’t know where or why anyone would cook up such lies about me,” the player was quoted as saying.

Taiwo who at a point was regarded as one of the highest paid Nigerian footballers, is married to Nimot Taiwoo and shares two kids between them, their daughter, Aliyah and son, Azeez.
