Long before his work went viral for the four-hour procedure this week that got Brown out of her sticky mess, Obeng was twice rated among America’s top plastic surgeons by the Consumer Research Council and gained praise for his international nonprofit work through R.E.S.T.O.R.E Worldwide Inc., according to his biography on his clinic’s website.

The website for the clinic, Miko Plastic Surgery, identifies Obeng as “The Surgeon’s Surgeon.”

Yet his latest claim to fame is the procedure to remove glue from Brown’s hair.

Place of Bate: Ghana.

Professional skill: Obeng is a certified plastic surgeon specialized in cosmetic/aesthetic plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery.

Location: He lives in Beverly Hills, California in the United states of America.

Job: Currently he is a staff at the Cedars Sinai Hospital, and a former Chief of Plastic Surgery at the St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Obeng did the $12,500 procedure for free once he learned of Brown’s plight.

“I looked up the compound,” he told TMZ. “The main actual ingredient in Gorilla Glue, polyurethane, and we had figured out the science, how to break it down. So I then decided, now I’m gonna reinvent the wheel.”

Obeng said he used industrial glue remover as well as a concoction that included aloe vera, an olive oil mixture, and acetone — which did the job.

He said he tried the remedy on a wig of real human hair, and it worked.

“Surgery went well,” Obeng said. “She had a lot of irritation on the scalp, especially the edges of her head because of all the chemicals.”

“She is very, very lucky that she did not sustain a lot of injuries to her scalp,” he added. “This type of ordeal is no joke.”
