Nigerian music has become a well known commodity in Ghana and terms like Dorobucci, Kokolette, Wizolingo created by Nigerian artistes have become household words and musician Luminary is determined to follow that trend with Totori.

Luminary who is half Nigerian and half Ghanaian and domiciled in Nigeria is out with two new singles, Making and Totori. For now, he wants Ghanaians to be familiar with Totori which he is promoting. The video was released last month and is being aired on Channel O and some local TV stations.

Totori features Nigerian songstress, Cynthia. The song is a sizzling, danceable Afro-pop piece that demonstrates Luminary’s rap talent.

It is not uncommon for a couple to profess their love for each other and on Totori, Luminary and Cynthia sing about how they can’t live without each other because of the “sweetness of their love”.

He told Showbiz last week Wednesday that Totori simply means “how sweet your baby can be”.

“As an artiste, you need to be creative and for one who grew up in Nigeria, creating imaginary words like Totori is very common. We get these words from ‘boys boys’ discussion and we put that in our creative writing.

“ I know people who are not Nigerians fall in love with these jargons and we are b happy Africa and the world are accepting the ‘Naija creations’, he said.

Born King B. Joseph, Luminary whose mother hails from the Volta Region and father from Delta State in Nigeria said  “I am back to my mother’s roots and sincerely, I think that Ghanaian music is one of the best from Africa. They are improving and it is not surprising the increasing collaboration between the two countries,” he stated.

Despite having a difficult breakthrough in Nigeria, Luminary says he is ready to break through the music scene and he is hopeful that Totori will give him the needed recognition in Ghana.

He is signed t Deny Records and under the management of Obefe Innovations.
