Ghana Food & Arts Festival steps out to the world

The solid links between culture, sound business initiatives and international cooperation were among the salient issues that emerged at the launch of the Ghana Food & Arts Festival (GFAF) on March 27, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra.

Organised by Cultural Tribes Event LLC, led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Derick Nii Adawu Abbey, the festival then spread its wings to Kortrijk in Belgium in September 2026.

It is currently gearing up for another splash of fine quality Ghanaian foods and arts in Barcelona, Spain, from November 24 to November 26, 2026.

Aside from the appealing Ghanaian dishes, GFAF offers guests a chance to enjoy traditional and contemporary performances, art and design sessions and networking opportunities.

All of this is done as a means of capturing attention, seizing people’s imagination and lifting their spirits to enjoy delightful Ghanaian moments.

“We knew we were in for something special when we embarked on this project. Our ultimate aim is to market Ghana in a way that will facilitate effective trade and investment opportunities,” stated the GFAF CEO, who is an entrepreneur and event organiser.

“We have brilliant chefs, painters, sculptors, tourism managers and performing artistes whose output deserves greater acceptance in other markets.”

He said the fusion of different cultures and experiences with artistic expression and effective market-oriented planning could positively influence people’s self-esteem.

He maintained that collaboration on such a basis would create a win-win situation for all parties involved.

“We want to create long-term relationships that deliver mutual benefits to Ghana and her international partners.

That’s why we are looking ahead to GFAF editions in places such as Germany, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Canada after the Spain programme,” Derick Abbey pointed out.

He and his team are working closely with traditional leaders, diplomatic missions, cultural practitioners, corporate organisations, the Ghanaian diaspora and other relevant outfits to promote Ghana as a viable destination for culture, tourism and investment.

They trust they are on the right path so far.
