Former footballer Hesse Odamtten celebrates daughter’s call to the Bar

Former footballer Hesse Odamtten has celebrated his daughter, Louisa Naa Suele Hesse-Odamtten, following her successful call to the Ghana Bar, urging her to pursue higher academic qualifications and strive for professional excellence.

Louisa was among more than 1,500 new lawyers called to the Bar at an impressive ceremony in Accra last Friday.

The ceremony attracted several personalities from politics, the media and other fields, marking a significant milestone in the professional lives of the newly qualified lawyers.

For Hesse Odamtten, a former Accra Hearts of Oak and Black Stars defender who starred in the 1980s, the occasion was a moment of immense pride as he celebrated his daughter’s academic achievement at a reception held in her honour.

Addressing guests at the reception, which brought together family members, friends, former football teammates and Louisa’s colleagues, the former footballer encouraged his daughter to regard her call to the Bar not as the end of her educational journey but as a stepping stone to greater academic and professional accomplishments.

He urged her to remain committed to continuous learning, broaden her knowledge and strive for excellence as she begins her career in the legal profession.

Among the guests were Mr Odamtten’s former football teammates, Jerry Adjei and Torgbor Laryea, who joined other well-wishers to celebrate Louisa’s achievement.

Their presence added a touch of camaraderie to the occasion, reflecting the enduring bonds of friendship forged during their playing days.

The reception provided an opportunity for family members and friends to congratulate Louisa on reaching the important milestone and express their support as she embarks on her professional journey.

For Mr Odamtten, whose football career included representing Hearts of Oak and Ghana’s senior national team, his daughter’s achievement was also an opportunity to underscore the importance of education, dedication and lifelong learning.

Louisa’s call to the Bar opens a new chapter in her professional development, as she prepares to apply her legal knowledge and skills in serving clients and society.

Her father’s advice serves as a reminder that success in any profession requires continuous improvement, commitment and the pursuit of higher goals.
