The Founder of the Etherean Mission International, Brother Ishmael Tetteh, has developed a “Word Empowered Game” to create a new attitude for learning and winning among schoolchildren.
The game, according to him, will improve the mental health, learning, understanding and fast memory recall, as well as improve the right use of vocabulary.
He said it would also build confidence, increase self-motivation, moral uprightness and promote a healthy community.
According to Brother Tetteh, students of today study to pass examination and do not learn to internalise knowledge for themselves. “It is the usual chew, pour, pass and forget syndrome”, he said.
He stressed that learning the word game encouraged fast access to the storage of information in the sub-conscious mind.
Four schools: Chelsea School, Canbest School, Restoration Academy and Radiant Way participated in the Word Empowered games, with Chelsea School coming first.
Students from the four schools, in a playful mood, mentioned words with the letters of the alphabets and as the game continued, any repetition of a word automatically took a student out of the game until the last person was left.
The winner is named and the rest accept the victory by mentioning the last word of the winner.
