West Ridge Int. wins  Milo Under 13 Champions League

The West Ridge International School at Kasoa in the Central Region are the new champions of the Milo Under 13 Champions League.

This was after it defeated the Ofinso Amoawi Primary School from the Ashanti Region 4-3 on penalties at the Paa Joe Park at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Issah Hussein from the West Ridge International School won the Golden Ball Award, with Desmond Boakye Ganihu Fuseini from the Amoawi Methodist Primary School and Ernest Awuah from the Bepong Methodist Primary School winning the Silver and Bronze balls respectively.

Gerald Nyabouri of the Jesus cares For You Academy and Daniel Baako from the Bepong Methodist School also won the Golden Boot and Golden Gloves respectively, while the Jesus Cares for You Academy was awarded the Fair Play Award.

The West Ridge International School took home GH¢ 10,000, medals, certificates of participation, as well as gifts from the sponsors.

The Amoawi Methodist Primary School received GH¢ 3,000, silver medals, certificates of participation and gifts from the brand sponsors, while the Bepong Methodist School, which placed third, got GH¢ 2,000, bronze medals, certificates of participation and gifts from the sponsors.

 All other participants and their coaches also received gifts from the sponsors.

The Milo Champions League is the flagship grassroot football fiesta organised by Nestle Ghana Limited in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and endorsed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to help the country scout for fresh and young talents across primary schools in the country.

Both the zonal and the national finals were preceded with football and coaching clinics for schoolchildren and coaches of participating and some non-participating schools. 

The clinics were facilitated by the Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association and Stephen Appiah, the icon for the tournament.
