Under-17 World Cup begins Oct 6
The Under-17 World Cup will begin next Friday, October 6 in India. The tournament, which will end on October 28, will see 24 countries, including Ghana, playing for honours during the 52-game event.

The competition, dubbed: India 2017, will be played in six cities; New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Guwahati and Kolkata.
Ghana’s Under-17 team, the Black Starlets, will on the first day of the tournament take on Columbia at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Ghana’s second match will be against the USA on October 9. The Black Starlets will play their third match in the group stage of the competition on October 12.
Ghana, Guinea, Mali and Niger reached the semi-finals of the 2017 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations in Gabon to take Africa's spots at the India 2017 contest.
Iraq, Iran, Japan and Korea Democratic People’s Republic joined the hosts in qualifying for India 2017 by virtue of reaching the semi-finals of the 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-16 Championship.
Spain, Turkey, England and Germany reached the 2017 European Under-17 Championship semi-finals and, in doing so, secured berths at India 2017. They will be joined by France, which won a play-off match against Hungary.
The 2017 Confederation Of North, Central American and Carribean Association Football (CONCACAF) Under -17 Championship was held in Panama from April 21 to May 7, 2017. Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and USA secured the four available spots for India 2017.
The 2017 Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Under-17 Championship was held in Tahiti from February 11–24, 2017. New Caledonia and New Zealand reached the OFC final to qualify for India 2017.
The 2017 South American Under-17 Football Championship took place from February 23 to March 19, 2017 in Chile. Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Colombia picked the four available slots.
