Short story: Veronica the Kleptomaniac

Edwina lost both parents when she was only three-years-old. She was then taken to her aunt, Auntie Nancy for her upbringing.

Auntie Nancy already had two children of her own so together they lived in harmony, with Edwina not lacking anything because her aunt saw to her every need.

Nancy was a kind person and treated Edwina so well that everybody thought Edwina was her first daughter. All three girls were academically good so Auntie Nancy was a happy and proud woman indeed.

At the Speech and Prize-giving Day of her daughters every year, her children would sweep most of the prizes to the envy of the other parents.

Although her daughters made her proud, she had one problem - one of her own daughters, Veronica, was a kleptomaniac, she stole things at the least opportunity and more seriously, things she didn't need or had in abundance.

As a result of Veronica's behaviour, Edwina was tasked to see to it that Veronica never stole anything from school
