The North Legon Little Campus, an international school offering British national curriculum, has held the second edition of its “Annual Sports Day’ on the school’s premises in Accra.
The event, which was chaired by Mr E. C .O. Addy, a former athlete, saw the Red team made up of pupils at the pre-school and primary levels beat their Blue counterparts by 157-147 to lift one of the two trophies at stake.
At the secondary level, the Yellow team also settled scores with their Green counterparts as they hammered the Green team by 37-35 to annex the second trophy after two rounds of battling in events such as 100 metres, rolling tie, sack race, lime and spoon, tug- of-war, 50 metres dash, musical chairs and shooting.
The event was on the theme: “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body” and was meant to promote healthy competition among the students as well as make the students understand the benefits of combining sports with academic work.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lawyer Douglas Djarbeng, a former football administrator and Managing Director of the school, congratulated the winners and expressed appreciation to parents and guardians for supporting their children and the school with their presence.
