Let’s protect children from kidnappers

Dear Editor, I wish to draw the attention of children to the dangerous activities of kidnappers,especially now that most of them are home as a result of the closure of schools.

Kidnapping is the act of abducting someone and holding them captive, mainly to obtain money known as ransom.

Formerly, we saw such in movies, however, it has become a reality in our country with some of the kidnapping cases involving children.

This is a  development which is serious considering the fact that as children, we are very innocent and so can easily fall prey to this act.

Kidnapping is likely  to be on the rise because children are now roaming about a lot just so they can release the boredom of being at home alone.

Most are also left home alone by their parents with little education on how to handle strangers. There are others who run errands in the community for adults. All these do not help in
