Twelve-year-old Kwabena Besa Zowunu of the Ashaiman Junior High School has won the sixth edition of the Amazing Child competition held at the National Theatre in Accra.
The competition, organised by TV Africa, started with 40 children and saw 10 finalists battling for the ultimate prize during the grand finale.
Finalists included Kwabena Besa Zowunu, Gentle Jokers, Young Stars, Naana Horthman, Kauser Neequaye, Kwabena Buaben Incoom, Young Panthers, Kwabena Mensah, Nana Adwoa Tweneboah and Humble Kids.
The Gentle Jokers of Assurance International School, Ashaiman, took the second position while the Young Stars group of the Dinashie Preparatory School, Nungua, placed third.
Judges for the night included ace musician Akosua Adjapong, Mr Terry Bright Ofosu, former National Dance Champion and Madam Doris Ansah, a broadcaster.
Speaking at the event, the Country Director of UNICEF, Madam Susan Ngongi, urged the children to pledge to fight against poverty and inequality in the society.
She encouraged the children to study hard in order to have a bright future.
The first prize winner was awarded a fully sponsored training package at Hakkies Floral and Catering Services, 15 boxes of Indomie, two hampers from Indomie and Hakkies Floral, products from KFM Musical Shop, dinner for four at the La Villa Boutique Hotel and GH¢3,000.
The second prize winners will benefit from a sponsored training package at Hakkies Floral and Catering Services, and in addition received 12 boxes of Indomie, two hampers from Indomie and Hakkies Floral, products from KFM Musical Shop, dinner for four at the La Villa Boutique Hotel and GH¢2,000.
The winners of the third position had a sponsored training package from Hakkies Floral and Catering Services, was presented with 10 boxes of Indomie, two hampers from Indomie and Hakkies Floral, products from KFM Musical Shop, dinner for four at the La Villa Boutique Hotel and GH¢1,000.
All the 10 finalists took home some boxes of Indomie and were awarded certificates of participation.
Special prizes were also presented to outstanding contestants for their unique contribution during the competition.
The event was sponsored by Indomie, Hakkies Floral and was supported by Ultimate Bar and Restaurant, Maglab Hotel and KFM Musical Shop.
