Kushi Jeswani wins Spelling Bee

 

Three pupils from the Delhi Public School in Accra have  swept the first three prizes in the 2013/2014 National Finals of the Spelling Bee Competition.

Ten year-old Kushi Jeswani of the school emerged the overall winner of the competition.

Master Vishal Thakwani, 11, and  Master Destin Nana Kojo Ellis, 12, both of the same school, placed second and third respectively.

For her prize, Miss Jeswani received an all-expense-paid trip to the USA to represent Ghana at  the 87th Scripps National Spelling Bee Competition. She also took home a laptop from Multichoice Ghana, MTN products worth GHC 150, $2,500 spending money from Indomie, an Ecobank Junior Saver Account and a gold medal.

Master Thakwani went home with a silver medal, MTN products worth GHC 100, an Ecobank Junior Saver Account, certificate of participation and products from sponsors.

Master Kojo also received  a bronze medal, products from sponsors and an Ecobank Junior Saver Account.

The event, which was held at the Osu Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Hall, attracted 77 spellers from the 10 regions of the country.
