Hillview Montessori Guides support physically challenged woman
The Girl Guides Association of the Hillview Montessori School at Ashongman in Accra has put smiles on the face of a physically challenged woman, Madam Felicia Ablah, after making a modest donation to support her.

The students made the donation to Madam Ablah, a member of the community in which the school is located, and said the exercise was part of the association’s aim to show love to the needy.
The group managed to raise GH¢1,700 and used part of the money to buy items which included toiletries, foodstuffs, provisions and cooking utensils. They also presented GH¢400 cash to her.
A Brownie (a young Guide), Paula Brianna, presented the items on behalf of the Guides.
Madam Ablah expressed her gratitude to members of the association for the gesture and prayed with them. She also taught the Guides a beautiful Ewe song.
The Guides, made up of about 120 members, solicited funds to assist Madam Ablah so that she can live a meaningful life.
The Patrol Leader of the Guides, Ms Abena Koomson, said members of the association were greatly touched by the plight of the woman who, apart from being physically challenged, struggled to weed around the community to make a living.
She explained that Madam Ablah had been abandoned by her husband and lived in an uncompleted building with her teenage daughter and that she needed the support of the larger community to make her comfortable.

According to Miss Koomson, members of the association would work hard and reach out to others who had similar challenges in their neighbourhood.
Mrs Cynthia Nana Yaa Labram, a patron of the association, said apart from helping members to become good citizens in future, the Guides are also educated on how to live healthy lives, practise good personal hygiene as well as receive training in various vocational skills to prepare them for the future.
