DEKS Education Institute goes ‘Old Skuul’

The Deks Educational Institute at Tema Community 8 has organised an Old School Day to give pupils an opportunity to learn about fashion trends of past years.

The day was also used to celebrate the founders of the school - Mr Ephraim Dei and his wife, Mrs Etta Dei - for their vision in the establishment of the facility to provide quality education for children.

During the event, pupils of the primary department of the school relived the past by wearing various ‘old school’ attires to the excitement and delight of their teachers and friends.

The teachers were not left out of the excitement as they dressed similarly to reflect the olden days - 1950s and 1960s.

The occasion was celebrated also with the preparation and display of some local dishes and drinks such as 'ɛto', ‘toose’ and many others.

Activities held included a fashion show and a dancing competition where prizes were awarded to pupils who performed very well.
