Mr Henry K. Asante, the Chief Executive Officer of the Care for Street Children and Orphanage Centre, a non-governmental organisation based in Accra, has donated educational materials worth GH¢600 to the Asesewa District Assembly Primary School in the Upper Manya Krobo District in the Eastern Region.
The items included seven packs of exercise books, pencils and pens.
Mr Asante said he was moved to donate the items when he watched on television a news item on the challenges schoolchildren faced during school period.
The Headteacher of the school, Mr Moses Kpogo, who received the items, thanked Mr Asante and appealed to the government to construct a six--classroom block for the school.
He said the present state of the school, where classes are disrupted whenever the clouds begin to gather, was not conducive for learning and appealed to public-spirited individuals and organisations to come to its aide.
