Christ the King to host Royalties Summer Camp

The 2016 Royalties Summer Camp, a two-week non-residential basketball and football development programme designed for student  athletes will come off from August 1 to 12 at the Christ the King School in Accra.

Organised by the Royalties Sports Academy, the camp will equip participants with basic basketball and football skills to enable them to excel in sporting activities at their various institutions.

It is expected to bring together about 500 students from basic and second-cycle schools, as well as students at the tertiary level across the country, for grooming and competition.

Some of the participating schools are Mary Mother of Good Counsel, Alpha Beta Education Centre, St Bernadette Soubirous School, East Airport International School, Presec Legon, Aburi Girls, St Augustines and Mfantsipim Senior High schools.

Students from the University of Ghana, the Central University College and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology will join their counterparts for the programme.

According to Bennett Ayitey-Adjin, Executive Director of the Royalty Sports Academy, this edition will focus mainly on foot work, ball handling, dribbling, shooting, and defensive fundamentals among others.

This vacation’s edition has corporate support from the HFC Bank, Blue Skies and GTV Sports Plus, that have promised to provide all participants with free kit and refreshment for the 12 days.
