With less than two weeks to the resumption of the major football leagues in Europe and across the world, there has been movement of players from one league to the other involving millions of dollars.
The transfers include Ghanaian players; notable among them are Asamoah Gyan, Captain of the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars. Gyan, after four years at Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates, has moved to Shanghai SIPG F.C. He will earn $350,000 a week.
Gyan scored 128 goals for Al Ain over four seasons, including a stunning 95 in 83 league games. His first-year heroics led Al Ain to their first league title in eight years, and they were to add two more league titles in his time at the club.
Gyan, in his first match for Shanghan, scored with a header to give his team a 2-1 victory over Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League.
Deputy Skipper of the Black Stars, Andre Dede Ayew, is currently with English side Swansea City after he moved from Marsei
