The Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Ms Patricia Appiagyei,has presented school uniforms, face masks and hand sanitisers to seven basic schools within the Asokwa Municipality.
She also donated chalks, sandals and branded exercise books to the schools and pupils.
The items were the MP's support to the schoolchildren and also encourage them to study hard and become responsible people in future.
The donation also formed part of the MP’s agenda to promote quality education within the constituency.
The beneficiary schools were located at Atonsu, Ahensan, Domposase, Asokwa, Gyinyase, Kaase and Chirapatre.
Making the presentation, Ms Appiagyei said her desire was to see every child from the constituency rise up to become the best in their fields of endeavour.
She urged the teachers to ensure that the pupils adhered to protocols and etiquette of the coronavirus pandemic as the disease was real.
Ms Appiagyei promised to continue to support the education of the schoolchildren within the constituency to the best of her ability.
The Asokwa Municipal Director of Education, Rev. Ebenezer Oteng Marfo, who accompanied the MP during her tour to present the items, on behalf of the beneficiary schools, thanked Ms Appiagyei for the gesture.
He said the education directorate received support from the MP, particularly during the COVID 19 pandemic period and said her support showed her commitment and appreciation for education in the constituency.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr Akwannuasah Gyimah, also commended the MP for her support, which he said would be a great relief to most parents, particularly those who are unable to provide their children with new set of uniforms.
He entreated the teachers to offer their best in educating the children entrusted in their care to help Asokwa become the best district in the region.
