He advised the graduates to use the period to read educational materials and novels.

Mr Oppong made the call at the Speech and Prize-giving Day and graduation ceremony organised by the school at Adabraka in Accra.

He congratulated the 37 graduates for listening to their parents, guardians and teachers who guided them to go through basic education.

The board chairman said now that they had graduated from junior high school and were waiting to further their education at the secondary  level, it was important that parents and  teachers gave them some space to associate with friends, but cautioned  that,  “it doesn’t mean you must abuse this freedom.”

He said when they abused the freedom given them, it would be withdrawn and replaced with restrictions.

“As you prepare to further your education to the senior high level, your success will also depend on your teachers and how you listen to advice,” he told the graduating students.

Master Michael Mintah and Miss Eugenia Ayisi, who were adjudged the overall best students, told the Junior Graphic that they were happy for the honour done them.
