'We are one': Igbasan takes APC Youth mobilisation to Cape Town

Mr. Olatunde Gideon Igbasan, Director General of APC Youth Network West Africa and a member of the Youth Mobilisation Directorate of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign, has reinforced his commitment to cross-border youth mobilisation by leading a peace walk in Cape Town, South Africa.

The event, held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, around Sea Point, was organised by the South Africa Chapter of APC Youth Network West Africa to promote peaceful political participation and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

Mr Igbasan’s participation underscored his leadership in expanding the network’s presence across West Africa and the diaspora, bringing young people and APC support groups together around a shared political vision.

Under his leadership, the network has strengthened its structures across Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire and South Africa, while pursuing youth-development and humanitarian initiatives, including food outreach, support for mothers and student-focused programmes.

Beyond the procession, the Cape Town peace walk reflected the network’s rallying message, “We Are One”, a call for unity, cooperation and collective commitment among APC support groups across national boundaries.

For Mr Igbasan, youth mobilisation goes beyond political campaigns and involves building lasting structures, encouraging responsible participation and creating opportunities for young people to contribute to Nigeria’s future.

The event also recognised the contributions of the South Africa Chapter, coordinated by Samuel Tabiti Adeyemi, in strengthening the organisation’s diaspora engagement.

As the 2027 general elections approach, APC Youth Network West Africa says it remains committed to expanding its reach, deepening youth participation and strengthening collaboration among supporters at home and abroad.
