Prof. Nakhabov said nuclear technology is a very important part of the science industry. It is very important in agriculture and medicine. Nuclear technology is very important to countries and I hope all countries will start using nuclear technology to aid in their development

Prof. Nakhabov showered praises on Russian State-owned nuclear corporation, Rosatom for its tremendous work in the enlightenment of the world on the importance of adapting nuclear energy as a primary source. According to him, students from African countries including Ghana have benefited from sponsorship packages from Rosatom to study Nuclear Engineering and related cources in Russia over the years.

Students from Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Egypt, Zambia,South Africa and many other African countries who are interested in studying nuclear engineering will be sponsored by Rosatom……Rosatom is making it possible for these students at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate to receive lectures in Russia. There are resource Centers across universities in Russia for Nuclear engineering purposes. These Resource centers are not limited to universities but can also be found in various Rosatom offices in Russia and elsewhere where Rosatom has partners.

Prof Alexander Nakhabov made these comments when winners of a video competition organized by Rosatom, visited his department as part of a week tour of Russian Nuclear facilities by the winners.

Winners of the video contest dubbed “Atoms Empowering Africa” arrived in Moscow on November 19, for the tour which included a visit to one of Russia’s Nuclear Power Plants which is equipped with VVER nuclear reactor, as well as a journey to the first City of Science.

The 4th annual youth video competition was devoted to the potential of nuclear power to help bolster Africa’s economic and social development. Students and young professionals from all Sub-Saharan African countries were invited to participate in the competition that begun in June this year. For the first time in the history of the contest, the contest was supported by the African Young Generation in Nuclear (AYGN), South African Network for Education in Nuclear Science and Technology (SAN-NEST) and South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE).
