During their Friday meeting, Zarif held talks with Ghana’s Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, who is in Tehran to attend President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration on Saturday.

In the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the ways to expand bilateral relations, especially in the fields of industry, energy, banking and agriculture.

Zarif and Zimbabwe’s FM Simbarashe Simbanenduku Mumbengegwi also discussed bilateral and regional issues.

Holding Tehran-Harare joint commission, fight against terrorism, and some other topics were top on the agenda of the two officials’ talks.

Back in May, Rouhani won a second term in the presidential election by securing an absolute majority of the votes.

The swearing-in ceremony for President Rouhani will be held at the Iranian parliament on Saturday, August 5.

Iran’s Interior Ministry has decided to raise security level at the Parliament to ‘critical’ during the inaugural ceremony.

Saturday has been declared a holiday in Tehran.
