Regina Lamptey’s confession: Is the Department of Social Welfare listening?

Regina Lamptey is 23 years old and a mother of three.  By that standard therefore, she should be experienced in motherhood, all things being equal.  So what made her do what she did to her one and a half-year-old baby, for which reason she is in the grip of the police? 

Last Tuesday, April 14, 2015, the Daily Graphic published on its front page, the tragic story of Regina Lamptey, a mother of three, who allegedly forced undiluted DDT, a chemical, into the intestines of her 18-month-old baby through his anus, leading to his death.  

According to the story, the woman, when picked up by the police, told them that she used the chemical as an enema to treat the baby of  abnormal body temperature.  The baby is reported to have died just minutes after the mother administered the pesticide to him.
