Re: Ongoing BECE: WAEC picks up 7 teachers for exam malpractice

Our attention has been drawn to a publication in the Daily Graphic of Wednesday, August 9, 2023, page 16, under the above caption.

We hereby write to dissociate our school, Trinity Lutheran School, from the act of examination malpractice.

The publication stated categorically at paragraph Three (3) that “One of the teachers, Flora Ashietey of the St. John Bosco Basic School, was found allegedly with a tablet containing questions and answers of the exam at the Trinity Lutheran School in Tema, …”

We wish to bring to the attention of all that “Trinity Lutheran School” is an Examination Centre that housed students from six different schools to write the BECE.

The ambiguity of the publication has labelled our school, which was a centre, as one of the schools cited for exam malpractice.

Other press houses, such as EducationWeb (educationweb.com.gh), ghanaeducation.org, Academic Week (academicweek.com), Yen News (yen.com.gh) and others have maliciously and mischievously published stories to defame our hard-earned reputation, and that continues to besmirch the good name of the school.

Management of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools, Ghana (ELCS) hereby states that Trinity Lutheran School is an Examination Centre for the BECE, and was not involved in the exam malpractice as has been published by some media houses.

Management,
Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools, Ghana.
