My visit to Dubai

On December 16, 2019, my mother and I set off from Ghana on an Emirates plane to Dubai.

My mother said the trip was organised by Emirates to show a mother and her child some of the tourist sites in Dubai.

When the plane took off, I felt something in my stomach, but in about six long hours, we landed in Dubai and settled in a big hotel called V Hotel.
The next morning our fun began.

We visited many places with our tour guide, Mr Rom Bautista, whom I started calling Uncle Rom because he was so friendly. One of the places we visited was the DreamWorks at Motiongate.

There we walked around and saw so many characters like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar. I saw a statue of Shrek and we entered a room where there were so many puppets which came alive to act Shrek.

We sat in a vehicle which rode us through a tunnel as we watched the puppets while the story of Shrek was told. Sometimes it was scary for me but not my mother.

We visited an aquarium called the Lost Chambers where I saw so many fishes of different sizes and colours and it was a very wonderful experience.

We also went to the Aquaventure Waterpark where there were so many toys to play with in water. My hair was so wet but I just did not care because I was so happy.

We also visited the Green Planet where I saw so many animals I have been watching on television face to face.

There were monkeys, frogs, parrots and a sloth which was fast asleep. The tour guide inside told me sloths could sleep for 15 hours a day!

At the Global Village, I watched a show where cars were racing and passing through fire and there were people jumping through ropes.
We also went to a very tall building called Burj Khalifa. We were told it was the tallest building in the world.

The food in the hotels and restaurants were delicious but I sometimes missed banku and okro stew and fufu with chicken light soup.

I cannot write all the fun I had but I will never forget Olioli, a big children’s playground where I was able to wash a parked VW car, did some paintings and drawing and also played inside a big colourful web.

I will always remember the mickey mouse and others made from flowers at the Dubai Miracle Garden but that visit made me so tired because my mother wanted to see everything and so we had to walk for so long.

Oh, my one-week trip to Dubai was so much fun and I think you should visit it too if you have the chance to travel with your parents.
