The play started exactly at 6:30 pm with performance from the crew which gave the audience a good laugh as the interesting scenes unfolded.

The play set in a typical Ghanaian market scene is centered around four strong female characters who display the diverse social background of women in society and highlight important societal issues.

When Sika’s husband, Mr. Johnson divorces her on false allegations of adultery, little did he know that years down the lane, she would lead an uprising threatening his job as the mayor of the city.

Sika, an MBA holder who runs a shop in the local market is on fire as she is leads a protest against the city council with some of the market’s notorious, uninhibited, and fiery women.

The exciting and hilarious play from the stables of Roverman Productions left the audience with nothing but hunger for more of the show after the curtains was drawn to bring the programme to a successful end.

Some of the amazing scenes included the performance of the market choir. The’ Choir Madam’ conducted using every part of her body including the wriggling of her buttocks which left patrons in stitches.

Also, the scene where a widow using the Ewe dialect to explain how excited she was to have lost a womanising husband was so hilarious.

This was the second time, that the people in the Volta regional capital were experiencing the creativity of Uncle Ebo Whyte.

Speaking to Showbiz after the show, Uncle Ebo Whyte observed the attendance was encouraging as it was an improvement upon a previous one shown in Ho, two years ago.

“I am excited that people are gradually falling in love with such theatre. The future looks brighter for theatre in the country”, he said.

He however observed that theatre in Ghana was currently struggling due to lack of adequate sponsorship.

‘I believe if we get more partners in this industry, it would be better and a lucrative venture for young people’ he said.

The team, he hinted, would be in the Northern, Western and Ashanti regions in the subsequent weeks.
