The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, wine experts and the general public who were treated to Spanish wine brands such as Maria Amoros, Duc de Foix, Cava and Gourmet, all produced by Spanish company, Covides.

Patrons were able to sample about six different varieties of wine.  Each wine was  paired with accompanying  dishes such as olives, bread rolls, bites of meat and prawns.
The Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, Maria Alonso, was the guest of honour.  She extolled the virtues of Spanish wines and described them as among the best in the world.

“Over the  last few years, Spain has developed very good wines and now we can offer wines that are comparable to ones you can find from France or any part of the world and we are very proud of this,” she said.

A wine expert and International Commercial Director for Covides, Christophe Marquet, was at the event. He  said the wines were of premium quality and produced from the best grapes grown in the Catalonia section of Spain. He pointed out all the wines were suited for the Ghanaian market and prefect for pairing with local dishes and meals.
