Sherifa, Elivava for AU Day Concert

They have their own unique styles when it comes to music but one thing that songstresses, Sherifa Gunu and Elivava, bring  out in their songs are the additional touch of traditional feel.

And the traditional feel experience is what patrons will be treated to when the two mount the stage tomorrow at the annual AU Day Concert at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in collaboration with RAM Media Concepts and African Union Secretariat, the show will also see performances from highlife musicians, Ben Brako and Amandzeba.

The coordinator for the event, Augustine Mark of RAM Media Concepts said the selection of artistes for this year’s concert was to promote locally brewed music on such an important day like the commemoration of the African Unity.

“Highlife gives us our identity that is why we selected two highlife stalwarts to join us celebrate the success and development of Ghana and other African Union. There was no better way to celebrate this day than to get these gems to treat Ghanaians to their own kind of music”, he said.

The AU Day is the annual celebration to mark the Organisation of African Unity, presently recognised as African Union to promote African unity and culture. The African Union was formed in 1963.
