Royal Senchi, others win Tourism Awards
Twenty - one individuals and institutions have been honoured at the ninth Eastern Regional Tourism awards day at Aburi.

Royal Senchi Resort at Akosombo was adjudged the overall best hospitality institution in the region while Beige Hotel at New Ebirem was the runner up.
Other awardees were the media tourism personality of the year, Mr. Samuel Lartey of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
Addressing the ceremony, the Executive Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr Charles Osei Bonsu, said the GTA has engaged the services of the Institute of Engineers to inspect all canopy walkways in the country and offer professional and technical advice to make it safer and secured.
He said the institute has completed its inspection and consulted the management of the various canopy walkways who have all acted on the technical advice and would soon hold a press briefing the public.
He announced that December 4 and December 5 have been slated for corporate paragliding festival on the Kwahu Ridge and called on institutions to participate to make the event successful.
Mr. Osei –Bonsu, who was happy about the list of winners expressed his appreciation to the jury for selecting the “right” winners to be awarded.
He, however, appealed to the jury to communicate their findings to the management of GTA to keep the public well informed about the shortcomings of some of the tourism facilities in the region as well as those doing a good job to help customers make good choices.
The Chief of Aburi, Otubuor Djan Kwasi, urged the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to hand over the Aburi Gardens to the GTA since it has the requisite skills as a tourism agency to manage and make it more attractive to tourists.
