Speaking with Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, the young ladies said they were inspired to initiate the show with the aim of bringing talented young ladies across the country to network and explore their potentials.

The day’s activity will also mark the launch of Miss Malaika 2015’s  “Girls Power and Educational Talk Project.

Although the programme is strictly for ladies, according to Adina, men are invited to give their support.

“It is a ladies’ workshop with entertainment; men are also invited to support us. It is going to be a relaxed night where ladies will get their heads down. Aside being a show to empower our ladies, it is also going to be full of fun so our ladies should come and support us because in unity is strength,” she stated.

Kuukua describes it as “a ladies hang-out night” and said  that  as a beauty queen, it was important for her to make her status in society relevant and her project was one of the ways to serve the purpose.

Talking about the Girls Power and Educational Talk Project, Kuukua said, “After the launch, I will officially carry out my first project on June 17 at  the St. Mary’s Senior High School at Korle Gonno.  This project is inspired by my personal experience while growing up. Together with some resource persons, we will be looking at mentoring some young ladies in senior high schools,” she stated.

To make it more relevant to participants, Kuukua said she had some experienced professionals as resource persons to speak to the young ladies and educate them on professional choices.

“Some of them are experts in Human Resource while others are motivational speakers who will mentor them on career guidance, among others. I appeal to corporate organisations and individuals to support the great opportunity to empower young ladies,” she said.

Apart from Adina who is expected to wow the audience with her songs, the 7pm event is also expected to see performances from a number of artistes, including Adomaa, Feli Luna and DJ Miss Orstin.
