According to the Communications Director of Rackus Productions, Gabriel Boateng, the event was adjourned to ensure better preparation for the event.

“In line with our policy to make this year’s awards bigger and better, it has become necessary to reschedule the event to December after consultation with our partners to ensure all the needed logistics and elements are in place.

“Also, we have to ensure that the production team is fully prepared to execute a good show,” Mr Boateng said.

This year’s awards, unlike last year’s, the organisers say, will take the form of a day’s festival.  The event starts in the morning with performances for upcoming reggae and dancehall artistes. The awards would then follow before performances by popular artistes in the evening

Awards will be given in 21 categories and some of them are Reggae Artiste of the Year, Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Best Reggae Collaboration, Best Dancehall Collaboration and the Alternative Reggae Song of the Year.
