Zuum Band for Keta

The Zuum Band, led by guitarist Chris Turkson, will be in action at the Aborigine’s Beach Resort, Keta on Saturday, April 30, to entertain guests at a fund-raising event being organised by the Keta Homecoming Group.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the Emergency Ward of the Keta Hospital and provision of medical equipment such as Patient Monitors, Digital Defibrillators, Portal Ultra Sound Machines and Baby Incubators.

The Keta Homecoming Group is a non-profit organisation made up of indigenes of Keta, its surrounding areas and friends from across Ghana.

“The one-day special event has already attracted considerable interest from well-known natives of the area as well as many non-native Ghanaians and foreign visitors”, said Homecoming Group chairman, Sui Fiawoo. “We hope this becomes a great annual tradition".

The Zuum Band has been around for over three decades and has a wide repertoire that makes it suitable for nearly every occasion. Whatever style of music an event calls for, whether old school soul, reggae, highlife, Afro-beat, blues or salsa, the experienced Zuum hands are able to deliver.

The programme will comprise a traditional food bazaar and Jamboree as well as other fun-filled activities from 9:00am to 3.00pm.  The Zuum Band then takes over from 7.00pm for everyone to dance the night away.

“The Homecoming Group is all about developing Keta and seeking the welfare of its people," said Chairman Sui Fiawoo.
“What better way to give back than to have an annual event that brings us all together providing an effective platform for networking and sharing ideas amongst ourselves.”
