Western Showbiz Awards launch on May 19

All is set for the launch of the Western Showbiz Awards dubbed, ‘WSA-18” to honour showbiz personalities from the region who have excelled in their various fields.

The awards, organised by events planning and consultancy company, Pipigee Promotions, is under the theme: “Empowering and Motivating tomorrow’s Showbiz Leaders Today.”

This is the third edition of the award which was formerly known as the Nzema Showbiz Awards. The organisers say it has been renamed to encompass the entire Western Region and not just a section of it.

The Event Coordinator, Mr Martin Cibz Pipigee Henryson, said although the region has produced lots of showbiz personalities, there were others in the industry who were doing well but were yet to hit the limelight and they needed to be recognised and given the needed push to excel.

According to Mr Henryson, after the launch on May 19, there would be lots of activities lined up for the event itself which will come off in the third quarter of the year.

He said a host of artistes, mainly from the Western Region, will perform at the main event.
