Ghana is still struggling to come to terms with the dancehall songstress Ebony Reigns who died on Thursday after a tragic accident.
Ebony, 21, died after an accident at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South district of Ashanti late Thursday night which claimed two other lives.
Known in her private life as Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, she spent only three years in the music industry but it is testament to her artistry that she made such an impact on Ghanaians.
Ebony was discovered by renowned musician and entrepreneur Bullet of Ruff n Smooth fame when she sent a recording of her voice and was signed to his Rufftown record label just a day after listening to the recording.
Ebony came out with her first single, "Dancefloor", in December 2015 with a video and audio release.
The song became a hit on radio landing her nomination for the unsung category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.
In March 2016 Ebony released her major hit single "Kupe", which is a household anthem in Ghana and some other African countries.
Ebony is signed to ruff town records and Midas touch Inc.
She captivated her fans with hit songs from an ever burgeoning catalogue such as Maame Hw3, Poison and Sponsor as well as risque performances which sent tongues wagging across town.
Currently, Ebony's most popular song on video sharing website Youtube is Sponsor which has over three million views followed by Maame Hw3 with 2.5 million views and Poison with 1.9 million streams.
Her other tracks; Hustle and Kupe currently have 1.7 million and 1.1 million views respectively.
