Veteran musician and dancer Slim Buster has compared his dance moves with those of contemporary dancer Dancegod Lloyd, explaining why some old-school styles were difficult to master.
In a recent interview, the veteran entertainer suggested that although Dancegod Lloyd could perform some of his moves, he might find it difficult to replicate those of the younger dancer.
“You see, Dancegod can actually do your moves, but you can’t do his moves,” the interviewer remarked, asking Slim Buster to explain the difference.
Slim Buster identified lyrical dance and dancing to the beat as two approaches, before recalling an old dance style he described as particularly challenging because of its leg movements.
“Back in the days, yeah, it was the hardest one because of the leg movement,” he explained.
He went on to demonstrate how the movement was performed in the past and compared it with what dancers now call legwork.
“Now, because they couldn’t do this, they are doing it like this,” he said while demonstrating the difference.
When asked about the movement now, Slim Buster confirmed, “The legwork now.”
