Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Stonebwoy, has been confirmed as one of the performing artistes at the Reggae Geel Festival in Belgium in August.
The two-day festival, which starts from Friday, August 3 and ends on Saturday, August 4, is one of the biggest gatherings of reggae artistes around the world and has in the past featured prominent artistes including Damian Marley and Mr Wailer.
The Higher artiste will join the likes of Jamaica’s celebrated act, Shabba Ranks, Doman Virgo, Chainska Brassika, Royal Sounds, Ras Digby, Havanna Meets Kingston, Anthony B, Cocoa Tea, Proteje, Samory 1, Etana, Chainska Brassika, The Skaville among others to celebrate all that is great about reggae music.
Recently, a video of Stonebwoy freestyling at the Red Bull Music UK was published online by the organisers and with many songs from his repertoire such as Most Original, Bawasaaba, Bhim Nation, Go Higher, Come From Far, and not Again, the Dirty Enemies artiste is sure to delight.
The organisers have assured that there will be high energy performances at this year’s show which also marks its 40th edition.

“Reggae Geel is for music lovers of all ages and offers a complete overview of all things Jamaica on its five stages.
Additionally there is a vast range of animation for children and at the reggae market you can find the most diverse selection of clothing, jewellery, records, musical instruments and art,” the organisers said in a statement.
