Stephanie Benson sings Dear Lord

Not much has been heard of Ghanaian born UK based Stephanie Benson but the singer is out with a new song Dear Lord, which features her five children.

The song in reality is a conversation with her Lord and has Stephanie thanking and praising Him for the unconditional love and protection and for being her Alpha and Omega.

Dear Lord is an uncluttered, well-produced piece on which Stephanie shows ultimate adoration for God and His goodness.

The singer’s titles released in Ghana not too long ago were Goodbye, Good Feeling and  So Me Mu. They aptly convey her well-loved style of sensuousness when handling ballads.

This new song, however, shows her ‘godly’ side in a way that sounds utterly convincing.  Those familiar with her repertoire would, however, remember an earlier song she did titled My Prayer which is also gospel-oriented.

The song starts like:

“Hey guys”

“Yes mummy”

“Come on up here. I want to talk to you for a second”

“Ok mummy”

“I want to tell you about the value of God, how to communicate with Him…”

The good thing for her fans is that she has released videos of both Dear Lord and My Prayer. It is too early to say if Stephanie is gradually tilting more towards gospel stuff but whichever direction she goes, there is the assurance her sweet voice would always ring out to the delight of her fans.
