The recording, dubbed, African Gospel in Classical Hymns and Songs, would feature two American gospel artistes, Jonathan Nelson and Darwin Hobbs.

According to a statement released last week by his management outfit in Ghana, Smatty’s Management and Production Company,  the album would be recorded by Danny Duncan, the renowned and award-winning US sound engineer who has also recorded music for other gospel greats like Israel Houghton, Cece Winnans and Marvin Sapp.

For Sonnie who is based in the UK, it has always been a privilege to lead God’s children in the acts of spiritual intimacy and the live album recording and concert in the US is just one of such platforms to adhere to the calling.

As part of efforts to get his fans outside of US to have a feel of his current activities, the Baba singer has released short video clips and some pictures on all his social media platforms to inform his fans of what to expect from the event.

His large following in Ghana had a feel of his contemporary worship and praise music style when he held his annual Africa Worships with Sonnie Badu concerts in Accra and Kumasi last year.

The singer launched the annual Sonnie Badu Worship concerts in 2008. Since then, the show has been held in countries like the United States, Germany, Italy, Ireland, England and Canada.

Sonnie has shared the stage with other internationally recognised acts like Bebe and Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adama, Martha Munizi and Alvin Slaughter.

Some of his well known songs are Wonder God, Covenant Keeping God, Baba and Okokoroko.
