Slomo Music, a content driven artiste who makes music of multiple genres like hip hop and Afrobeats just to name a few, is ready with his latest song, Work.
Slomo Music who has been studying the music scene for a while also has songs — Baba, Come Over and Cold Hearted to his credit.
Work, which talks about working hard to achieve whatever you set your mind to was self-produced and can be described as a mid tempo hip hop song.
With a banging beat and simple catchy melodious chorus, Slomo Music sings and raps in English with verses fitted perfectly that capture the message of the song beautifully.
In a chat with Showbiz, Slomo Music said, “Work was inspired by just looking at talented musicians who stay fixed at a certain level and do not progress because they do not put in the work to do better.
“I decided to speak on my hustle with a mindset of going out there and doing it on my own”.
Slomo Music’s love and passion for music started at home where members of his family either played instruments or sang on a regular basis.
“I decided to rap even though I could sing and I developed a greater love for music when I got to secondary school.
“I studied music for my GCSEs and chose to teach myself to play instruments such as the bass guitar and drums, then took it a step further into music production,” he stated.
There is no doubt up and coming artistes always face hardships on their journey in the music industry and for Slomo Music, attracting the needed attention was a big challenge.
“Getting consumers to listen to music with rich lyrical content has been a very big challenge for me because these days, all people want is just enjoy and dance to a fast tempo beat without any regard to what is being said in the song”, he said.
With musical inspirations from Hammer of the Last Two, Don Jazzy, Killbeatz, Obrafour, and Lecrae, Slomo Music has other songs in the pipeline and has dreams of working with some of his inspirations for a mixtape in the future.
