Expressions of Accra 2015 was themed Fast and Furious and had Horseman Shoes, Sarah Christian, MAKSI Clothing, Naa Lamiley Kouture, Trap Shoes, MSimps and Chapter One Classics showing brilliant designs made from GTP fabrics.

Sarah Christian was the first to hit the runway. True to the theme for the night, ‪#‎FastAndFurious, Sarah Christian broke onto the runway with models decked in tulle, motorcycle helmets, capes and dark make up. Her designs were accentuated with chunky, jagged, black foam cut to resemble icicles or arrow heads. Her line got the event started on a high and kept patrons asking for more.

Mabel Simpson, MSimps, also won the hearts of patrons with her set, which eventually ended the show. The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has praised Msimps for the unique designs exhibited at Citi FM’s Expressions of Accra last Saturday.

She wrote on her Facebook Wall: “Mabel Simpson Msimps you raised the bar! Msimps at the Citi FM’s Expression of Accra.” Msimps displayed wide range of fashion accessories including handbags, laptop bags, shoes and other accessories with African print.

Naa Lamiley Kouture’s approach was to keep it simple, yet sophisticated enough for the upwardly mobile person who needs a resourceful wardrobe. Her collection had clothes you can wear anywhere and not be over-dressed or be made to feel inadequate. The young designer deservedly won the admiration of patrons.

The presence of Maksi Clothing on the runway was characterized by a breezy, floaty, dancing on air kind of feel. The talented sister duo nailed it with a collection that guaranteed picture-perfect sways with flowing, floor-length garments in billowy fabric. The male models carried jute bags to complete the look.

Chapter One put out creative, stylish and edgy designs on the runway. For fashionistas who wished to see something that pushed the limits and test the willingness to dare to be different, Chapter One was the brand of choice. He sent out garments with a unique mix of wax print, patterned knits, mesh, jersey and denim with an Anas-tinged vibe. Those were styles one expects to see on fall runways in London, Paris or Milan.
