One week observation of Kwadwo Akwaboah held

Family, friends and colleagues of late Highlife musician, Kwadwo Akwaboah marked his one week observation held at Trede, off the Obuasi Road today, Tuesday, May 30.

A host of Ghanaian musicians including Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Strongman, and friends of the late singer’s son, Akwaboah Jnr, supported the bereaved family.

Kwadwo Akwaboah died on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

His passing was announced by his son Akwaboah Jnr in an Instagram post when he shared a photo of his father with the caption: “RIP DADDY.”

The late Kwadwo Akwaboah, 60, was a talented guitarist, producer and keyboardist. He worked with some of Ghana’s great musicians, including Kojo Antwi, Rex Omar and the late Nana Kwame Ampadu, Jewel Ackah and C.K. Mann.

He also played in his late father, Master Bob Kwabena Akwaboah Snr.’s Akwaboah International Band, Marriot Band and Oheneba Ntim Barima Band.

Some of the songs he is known for are Awerekyekyere, Face To Face and Hini Me.
