“Lingima” is a Dagbani word which means Armour of God and the dance piece presents a multi-dimensional choreographed assessment of the Armour of God, inspired by the various Ghanaian dance forms.

In a press release issued and signed by the Executive Director of National Theatre of Ghana, Mrs Amy Appiah Frimpong, it mentioned that the performance intends to highlight the life cycle events of an individual, and draw inspiration from the full armour of God that the Bible charged people of Christian faith in Ephesians six to uphold.

“The full armour comprises the Belt of Truth, Breastplates of Righteousness, the Gospel of Peace, Shield of faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the spirit.

“The National Dance Company, known for its creativity will present the Armour of God through artistic movements and sequentially in performance.

“The group will blend percussive dance styles, Ghanaian dances, and influences from other art forms in each piece of the Armour, distinctly,” the release noted.

Apart from the cultural significance, the show is equally aimed at reminding Christian about the reality of the spiritual battles and protection available to them.

The ticket for the event is GHC 30 for single and GHC for double.
