My daughter is my peace and blessing -Former CNN anchor, Aisha Sesay
Former CNN anchor and the Chief Executive Officer of OkayMedia, Isha Sesay has announced the birth of her daughter, Naimah Yasmine Kadi Sesay describing her as her “peace and blessing”.

Naimah was born on Friday, February 17 in New York City, USA.
Taking to Instagram to make the announcement recently, Isha Sesay disclosed the pathway to motherhood has been a long and at times, difficult journey.
“My pathway to motherhood has been a long and at times, difficult journey. But through it all, I have taken every step guided by faith and prayers, as well as the loving support from so many of you, both near and far. And now that I am finally transformed by this brand new wondrous being…
“Those difficult days are behind us and Naimah, and I are thankfully back home. In the blink of an eye, my child has removed all traces of who I once was and what I considered to be important.
“In keeping with the meaning of her first name, Naimah, she is indeed my peace and blessing,” a part of the post read.
Sesay, 47, following a divorce decided to take the unconventional route of having a baby on her own.
In an article published on Today in October last year, she said, “In the aftermath of our breakup, it hit me: Not having a child would be the greatest regret of my life. … If I was waiting for the right man to come along before I did it, well, I might just find myself out of time.”
Throughout her pregnancy she shared video updates of her journey to motherhood – highlighting issues of maternal deaths especially among black women, single parenting etc.
