Music rules at Malaika finals

Though it was a beauty pageant event, patrons at last Saturday’s Miss Malaika grand finale hosted at the National Theatre  were also treated to thrilling performances by  artistes, MzVee, Eazzy , Stonebwoy, the current VGMA Artiste of the Year, and Kidi, winner of MTN Hitmaker 4.

The night, which had been hyped up by organisers, Charterhouse, to be full of fun and excitement was rightly so as each artiste proved their worth on stage.

The talented young MzVee wowed the audience with her dancehall - inspired tunes and stagecraft. She performed some of her popular songs such as Borkorborkor, Harmattan, Come Over, Natural Girl among others.

Apart from her stagecraft that held the audience spell bound, MzVee’s sassy outfit was another “magnet” to fix patrons eyes on her. But she wasn’t the only one guilty of the “offence” on stage.

Her “rival” and former first lady of Lynx Entertainment, Eazzy appeared on stage in similar outfit.

It is said that music is the food of the soul and Eazzy obviously knew just what to serve patrons. Clad in a fishnet jumpsuit, the Wengeze hitmaker fed her audience with her music and eclectic dance moves. Backed by her choreographers, Eazzy got the patrons engaged for the whole time she was on stage.

The show, which almost turned into a mini music event anytime an artiste came on stage also featured Stonebwoy and he didn’t disappoint as usual.

He was definitely the toast of the young ladies present as they screamed and danced along to his hits such as Not Again, Pull Up, Baafira and Go Higher.

The 13th edition of Miss Malaika was won by Kukua Korsah, a 22-year-old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Techology.
